Overview

Part of NSW Government’s vision for a pedestrian and cycle corridor from Central to Darling Harbour, the Goods Line North, a disused railway, has been reinvented and transformed into a world class social hub connecting visitors and residents to Darling Harbour and providing a space for recreation, public entertainment and study.

Challenges

The complexities with working around Sydney Trains high voltage cables and heritage state significant rail underbridge.

As there were multiple private and government agencies involved, communication and stakeholder management for this project was critical in its successful delivery.

Services

TPS was engaged from the initial business case to secure feasibility funding to undertake the concept design through to the development application process including negotiating approvals from six separate land owners. TPS engaged and managed all the external consultants, as well as the principal contractor via the government procurement process whilst liaising with internal departments to ensure all the project objectives were addressed.  This included consulting with the community and other relevant stakeholders.

Highlights

The successful completion and high daily usage of the once disused Goods Line North rail line into a multi award winning public space used by thousands of people everyday.
